FROM
THE VOICE
Thanks to the Board of Directors and the Information
Committee, our website, SCSHCA, was recently revamped—they wanted a “management
tool” that would better relay information to homeowners about what was going on
in our community. Our previous GM Judie
Zoerhoff said they were concerned about getting more timely information out
than they could publish in the monthly newsletter, The View, such as new
construction issues, emergency notifications, meetings and announcements. The board has been adamant that there be no
public access to the website. We now
have a one-way communication called “Hot Topics” banner for such information,
and a Q&A email address for your questions, neither of which is available by
residents to post comments back to the community or management.
The original version of the website contained a “Message
Center” where residents could comment on happenings or sharing advice. However, there were a few residents who
misused the MC, writing fallacious and damaging items and used name-calling of
others who had opinions with which they disagreed. They didn’t write about why they disagreed, but issued really nasty personal threats. It was quite outrageous and ruined the only means
of communication available to residents.
Therefore, we, members of the steering committee of the
Voice, will try to fill the void. Please
read our other posts on who we are and what we do, (See “Once Upon a Time” on
why there were homeowners who got interested in making changes where they were
needed.) We urge you to get involved and try to attend
the monthly board meeting. If you can’t
be there, we will post updates for you.
Please feel free to write us and tell us your concerns, or
write an editorial that we can publish.
Our Voice will be your voice.
