AN OPEN LETTER AND INVITATION TO HOMEOWNERS

WHO IS THE VOICE?  We are a group of resident attorneys, accountants, and business managers who first met to discuss the financial and tax reporting by your Board of Directors in Sun City Shadow Hills.  We studied the HOA’s financial position and operations of PCM, the company that our developer, Pulte, first contracted to manage us when Pulte went on to build Phase 2 and 3.  We uncovered some alarming facts which resulted in filing a Complaint with the California Attorney General.  For the history and results of the Complaint and what is happening now, please see our report entitled,  “Once Upon a Time.

In 2013 the Board of Directors approved The VOICE as a Resident Group.  This is a status which entitles us to use common area meeting rooms.  We act as a “political action” committee to monitor elections, Board and committee actions, and management by PCM.

During the 2013 election for new board members, a small group of residents were intent on calling us “troublemakers” without regard to the facts of the election issues.  They used fear tactics to intimidate residents.  They threatened that our property values would decrease, that our actions would lead to lawsuits, and even that we were trying to do away with the golf course.

The VOICE seeks to represent homeowners and all interests in our common health, welfare, security, and enjoyment.   You do not need to join.  Just know that we are here if you need us.  We will make public our reports and findings as much as possible.  We may hold Town Hall Meetings to which you are all invited.  We only ask that you keep an open mind and stay informed.

Please see our MISSION STATEMENT.

  2. Hello, my Name is Diane. I own and am a part time resident in Bermuda Dunes Country Club. We are seeking other residents who have worked to effect changes in their Board of Directors, for the betterment of their community, to ensure transparency, that the BOD follow their By-Laws and CC&Rs, etc. Currently, if residents are unhappy and need changes, and if the BOD won't work with them voluntarily, the only recourse under Davis-Stirling is to recall or sue them. There has to be an amendment to Davis-Stirling to give residents other recourse that isn't as divisive or costly. I am hoping someone at The Voice will contact me. We are also speaking with residtpents at Morningside, Rancho Mirage CC, and with the help of Assemblyman Garcia to collectively improve remedies. My contact information is: (818) 248-7015. Thank you, Diane F
